Pantodil Inj. is a medication containing Pantoprazole. It is a proton pump inhibitor. It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which in turn relieves acid-related indigestion and heartburn.
Pantodil Injection contains Pantoprazole 40mg which is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). This medication effectively reduces stomach acid production by inhibiting the action of proton pumps in the stomach lining. By decreasing acid levels, it provides relief from symptoms such as acid-related indigestion and heartburn. Pantoprazole is commonly prescribed for the management of various acid-related disorders, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and gastritis. Its mechanism of action offers sustained relief and healing for conditions caused by excessive stomach acid production.
Pantodil Injection is used in the treatment of acidity, heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux) and peptic ulcer disease, treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Common side effects are-
Flatulence, Vomiting, Nausea, Dairrhea and abdominal pain.

Pantodil Injection contains pantoprazole which belongs to the category of Proton pump inhibitors are substituted benzimidazole derivatives, weak bases, which accumulate in the acidic space of the parietal cell before being converted in the canaliculi (small canal) of the gastric parietal cell, an acidic environment, to active sulfenamide derivatives. This active form then makes disulfide bonds with important cysteines on the gastric acid pump, inhibiting its function.

1) Do not try to self administer. It is to be given as an injection into the veins or as drip under the supervision of a doctor.
2) It may cause an application site reaction like redness, swelling, and pain. Consult with your doctor if it bothers you.
3) Drink water regularly to help avoid dehydration. 
If you miss a dose of Pantodil Injection, contact your doctor as soon as possible. They will advise you on how to proceed, which may include rescheduling the missed dose.
Pantodil Injection is used for the treatment of peptic ulcer disease, reflux esophagitis or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Pantodil Injection prevents acidity associated with use of painkillers. It is also used to treat a disease associated with excessive acid production in the stomach known as Zollinger Ellison syndrome (ZES). It works by reducing the amount of acid made by your stomach and thus relieves your symptoms.
You should start to feel better within 2 to 3 days. It may take up to 4 weeks for Pantodil Injection to work properly so you may still have some symptoms during this time.
No, a single dose may not be sufficient. However, with only a few doses of Pantodil 40mg Injection you may get relief with the symptoms. Pantodil 40mg Injection is usually needed only for a short term or upto 2 weeks for heartburn, indigestion, acid reflux. However, if need arises, such as for treating peptic ulcer disease and Zollinger Ellison syndrome (ZES), Pantodil 40mg Injection may be prescribed for a long term duration as well. Please consult your doctor if you do not feel better even after taking Pantodil 40mg Injection regularly for 2 weeks as prescribed.
