Nitroglyrin 2.6mg tablet is a controlled release fomulation.It is used to treat and prevent heart-related chest pain (angina). Angina occurs when the heart muscle is not getting enough blood. This medicine works by relaxing and widening blood vessels so blood can flow more easily to the heart.
Nitroglyrin 2.6 tablet contains nitroglycerin 2.6mg. Due to mitochondrial aldehyde dehydrogenase it gets converted to nitric oxide (a potent vasodilator). It dilates the blood vessels and thus increases the blood flow and casuing relaxation in the vessels.
Nitroglyrin 2.6mg controlled release tablet is used for acute relief of an attack or angina pectoris (heart-related chest pain) due to coronary artery disease.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Nitroglyrin 2.6mg Tablet CR may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Nitroglyrin 2.6 Tablet CR contains Nitroglycerin 2.6mg which is a nitrate. It works by relaxing the blood vessels and increasing the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart while reducing its work load, thereby preventing/treating attacks of angina (chest pain).

1) Sit or lie down while taking nitroglyrin to avoid dizziness or fainting.
2) Do not consume alcohol while taking nitroglyrin tablet as it may cause increased dizziness.
3) Eat healthy (low-fat, high-fiber, low-sodium diet), quit smoking, increase your physical activity, watch your weight and reduce stress.
If you have missed giving any dose of Nitroglyrin, then take it as soon as you remember. If it's already time for the next dose then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule. Follow the dosing schedule regularly & take this medicine at regular intervals.
