Portderm KT 6 is a broad spectrum tropical formulation used to treat skin conditions caused by combination of bacterial and fungal infections such as athlete's foot, ring worm and other bacterial and fungal infections.

How it Works

Portderm KT6 is a combination medicine containig: Ketoconazole, Tolnaftate, Neomycin sulfate, Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline, Clobetasol, Dexapanthenol.
- Ketoconazole and Tolnaftate belongs to the group of antifungal drugs that kills and stops the growth of fungi by destroying its cell membrane, thereby treating your skin infection.
- Neomycin is an antibiotic. It stops the growth of bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by it to carry out its vital functions.
- Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline belongs to the class of hydroxyquinoline antifungal drug that acts by interacting DNA synthesis thus killing fungi that are responsible for the infection.
- Clobetasol is a steroid, it blocks the production of certain chemical messengers that causes inflammation and makes the skin red and itchy.
- Dexapanthenol is used as moisturizer to prevent dry, rough, scaly, itchy skin.

Interactions with Drugs

  • 1) Avoid concurrent use with other topical corticosteroids, antibiotics, or antifungals on the same area to prevent additive side effects or resistance.
  • 2) Topical corticosteroids like clobetasol may reduce the efficacy of live vaccines and increase risk of skin reactions near injection sites.
  • 3) Prolonged use may increase the adverse effective due to increased absorption.

Avoid contact with eyes, mouth or open wounds.

If you forget to apply the Portderm KT 6 Ointment, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next application, skip the missed one and resume your regular schedule. Do not apply extra to makeup a missed dose.
