Yeacon belongs to a group of medicines called antifungals. It stops the growth of fungi and kills it by destroying the fungal cell membrane, thereby treating your skin infection.
Yeacon is a brand name for a medication containing itraconazole, which is an antifungal drug used to treat a variety of fungal infections. It kills fungi by destroying fungal cell membrane. Yeacon capsules are to be taken orally for optimal duration. The dosage and duration of treatment may vary depending on the type and severity of fungal infections.
Yeacon is used in the treatment of fungal infections such as fungal infections of lungs (aspergillosis), blastomycosis, histoplasmosis and onchomycosis (fungal infection of fingernails or toenails).

Itraconazole is a triazole antifungal that works by disrupting the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes. It does this by inhibiting the fungal-specific enzyme lanosterol 14-alpha-demethylase. This blockage prevents the conversion of lanosterol into ergosterol, causing toxic sterol precursors to accumulate inside the fungal cell. The resulting damaged and weakened cell membrane leads to leakage of the cell's contents, effectively killing the fungus and clearing the infection.

Do not skip any dose, complete the full treatment course even if you feel better. Take it with food, preferably at the same time everyday.
If incase you miss any dose of Yeacon, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow the regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Itraconazole capsule must not be taken by pregnant women. If consumed during pregnancy, it increases the risk of fetal harm including severe birth defects. Consult the physician for more information.
The length and dose of treatment depend on the type and site of infection and your response to the treatment. Consult your physician for complete information.
Yeacon capsule is not known to interfere with driving ability. However, side effects like drowsiness can be experienced while using this medicine. If symptoms appear, avoid driving.
Swallow the capsule after a meal with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or open the capsules. Take your dose at the same time each day to ensure consistent absorption.
