Febifit is a medication containing Febuxostat which is used to treat and prevent gout. Gout happens when there is too much uric acid in your body and it forms into crystals that can appear around your joints leading to painful and swollen joints. This medicine helps to keep uric acid levels low.
Febifit 40mg tablet contains febuxostat 40mg, a xanthine oxidase inhibitor used for the management of chronic gout. It works by lowering the high levels of uric acid in the blood, preventing painful gout attacks and long-term joint damage. Febifit is commonly prescribed to the patients who caannot tolerate allopurinol or need an alternative therapy to achieve better uric acid control. By reducing the uric acid production, febifit helps decrease the formation of urate crystals in joints offering effective and consistent relief from gout symptoms.

Some common side effects include Nausea, skin rash, abnormal liver function, joint pain and rashes.
Take Febifit tablet in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Febifit tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

1) Take plenty of water/ fluids while taking febifit.
2) Do not consume alcohol while taking this medicine as it may cause your gout to flare up.
3) Take it same time every day with or without food.
If you miss a dose of Febifit Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Febifit is used to treat gout in adults. It is mainly used in patients who did not respond to the treatment with allopurinol or who are not able to take allopurinol. Gout is a type of arthritis in which uric acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body, builds up in the joints. It causes sudden attacks of redness, swelling, pain, and heat in one or more joints.
Febifit tablet is advised to be taken once a day. It can be taken at any time of the day, but preferably at the same time each day so that you remember to take it every day. This will help maintain the levels of Febifit 40 Tablet in the body. You can take this medicine with or without food."
