Nicpovid Ointment is an antiseptic and disinfectant agent. It is used for the treatment and prevention of infections in wounds and cuts.
Nicpovid 5 % ointment is an antiseptic and isinfectant agent. It is used for the treatment and prevention of infections in wounds and cuts. It kills the harmful microorganism and control their growth thereby preventing the infection on the affected area.
Povidone iodine topical is used on the skin to treat or prevent skin infection in minor cuts, scrapes, or burns. povidone iodine topical is also used in a medical setting to help prevent infection and promote healing in skin wounds, pressure sores, or surgical incisions.
Skin irritation, redness or itching at the site of application.
Nicpovid Ointment is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as prescribed by the doctor.
Nicpovid 20g is an antiseptic containing Povidone-iodine is called iodophore which means povidone acts as a carrier of iodine. Iodine is considered as the active moiety that mediates microbicidal actions. When released from the complex, free iodine penetrates the cell wall of microorganisms quickly, and the lethal effects are believed to result from disruption of protein and nucleic acid structure and synthesis. Additionally, free iodine disrupts the function of the cytosolic enzymes involved in the respiratory chain, causing them to become denatured and deactivated.

Apply a small amount to the affected area after cleaning it properly.
Do not use it on burnt, broken or inflammed skin.
If you forget to apply the Nicpovid Ointment, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next application, skip the missed one and resume your regular schedule. Do not apply extra to makeup a missed dose.
Use Nicpovid Ointment for the duration advised by your doctor. The bacteria are normally cleared from your skin within 10 days of starting the treatment. Do not use it for more than 10 days. If your skin condition does not improve within 3–5 days, see your doctor.
Follow the directions given by your doctor carefully. Wash your hands before applying Nicpovid Ointment. Apply the ointment to the infected area of skin 2–3 times daily or as told by your doctor. You can cover the treated area with a dressing or leave it open as per your doctor’s advice.
